Raising Awareness And Promoting Positive Attitudes About Gender Equality

As the first and foremost important objective, BILIM is committed to proactively contribute to raising awareness of particularly its research community. We are of firm believe that awareness towards gender equality will instigate positive attitude among the community members which will eventually lead to adequate practice. We employ the knowledge, attitude, and practice model of changing a community’s views towards women.

Action

  • Conducting awareness trainings, workshops, seminars, and other related events specifically targeting gender stereotyping, discrimination, violence, and systematic bias towards women.

  • While training the staff members prior to a project, a specific focus is laid on gender equality related content

  • Assessing the prevailing attitudes towards women’s full participation in the Bilim community and tackling them in the organization

  • Promotion of positive attitudes and abolishing prevailing negative attitudes towards women’s employment and social participation.

  • Conducting awareness campaign among the staff members on elimination of violence against women.

  • Assessing and dealing with prevailing negative practices regarding women’s participation in the workforce

  • Training and awareness campaign on prevention of GBV in the working environment

  • Assisting GBV survivors effectively to overcome its consequences.

  • Conducting mental health trainings for women

  • Advocacy and support of female employees outside the organization
